Purpose:
It is the charge of IVCRC to oversee the distribution of the Isla Vista Improvements Lock-In funds. The charge of the committee, according to the Legal Code of Associated Students, reads:
Isla Vista Community Relations Committee is responsible for the education of the campus and student communities regarding issues within Santa Barbara County and Isla Vista that have an effect on students. Such issues may include but are not limited to: safety, police/community relations, landlord/tenant relations, emergency and other vehicle access in Isla Vista, parking, and County and University funding for programs and services in Isla Vista. (A.S. Legal Code, Article XI, Section 17A)
Meetings:
We meet in Isla Vista every Monday at 8PM at the Isla Vista Tenants Union Office (6550 Pardall Unit B, above Grafikart).
Requesting Funds:
If you feel your event fits the charge of IVCRC in helping to educate or enrich the Isla Vista community you are invited to do the following:
1. Email IVCRC [ ivcrc.requests@gmail.com ] at least two weeks prior to the event and request to be put on our agenda.
2. Once you receive an invitation from the committee download and fill out the funding request form (76KB PDF). It is recommended that you make seven copies of this form and the requested attachments.
Receiving Funds:
In order to receive funds from IVCRC your group MUST have an AS account. If your group does not have an AS account it is easy to set one up by visiting the AS Finance Board office (inside the AS Main Office). Schedule a meeting with a finance board member for a short workshop to set up your account in order to receive AS funds.
If your request is approved by IVCRC the funds are transferred into your AS account as soon as our minutes are approved by Legislative Council at their Wednesday night meeting. Once funds have been transferred into your account, requisition forms may be filled out by the signers on the account to obtain the funds granted by our committee.
